Psyonix has announced that Rocket League’s upcoming basketball mode, officially dubbed Dunk House, will be coming to the game in April.
They took to Twitter for this reveal:

Fans of the game, which is often and aptly described simply as “soccer, but with rocket-powered cars”, have reacted excitedly to news of the update. It looks set to fundamentally alter the way the game is played as aerial ability, one of the harder aspects of mastering the game, looks set to become a lot more prominent. This will probably appeal more to hardcore Rocket League players than the game’s more casual fan base after the initial excitement has worn off for the new mode, which was originally teased earlier in the month.

The game became a somewhat surprising smash hit when it was released, earning a number of industry awards and a dedicated fan base. Rocket League has even been adopted into the eSports scene — and the new update, which looks set to considerably modify gameplay, is sure to solidify its status there.
