Rune Factory 5 Release Window Announced in First English Trailer

Rune Factory 5 releases in 2022, but we'll be headed back to the farm much sooner than that.

XSEED debuted the first Rune Factory 5 trailer in English as part of E3 2021’s Future Games Showcase and shared a Rune Factory 5 release window as well. The next installment in the fantasy-farm-sim will release in early 2022 on Nintendo Switch.

The Rune Factory 5 E3 trailer gives us a glimpse at a few of the characters, including Alice, Ryker, and Scarlett, along with some familiar and new monster faces, such as a giant, three-headed red dog and massive snake fiend.

It also shows some of Rune Factory 5‘s  fully 3D locations in more detail, from lush forests to idyllic farm vistas.

Rune Factory 5 continues the series’ tradition of blending dungeon crawling and action-packed fights with sedate farming but adds a few twists. XSEED describes it like this:

After losing their memory, the hero lands in a small town blessed by nature. There, they are recruited into a band of peacekeeping rangers, and their new life begins.

In addition to their normal duties, the hero can farm the land, cast a line into the nearby river, and so much more! Team up with townsfolk to battle monsters and unleash powerful combination attacks—just one of the features new to the series.

Rune Factory 5 is currently slated for Nintendo Switch only. However, if you need more farming bliss in your life on other platforms, XSEED also announced it’s releasing Rune Factory 4 Special on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
