Satoru Iwata’s Mii likeness has been constructed into a swordfighting amiibo by artist GandaKris. The amiibo is up for auction on eBay, currently standing at $355 and growing.
In memory of the late Nintendo President, 100% of the resulting auction payment will go to Child’s Play, a non-profit charity with the following mission statement on its front page:
“Child’s Play seeks to improve the lives of children in hospitals and domestic violence shelters through the generosity and kindness of the video game industry and the power of play.”
According to the amiiboalerts eBay listing, this custom memorial amiibo is mentioned to be the “most touching and inspirational” to ever be created.
There are several petitions currently circling the internet regarding the need for an official amiibo of Satoru Iwata, and has been a voiced opinion since the news of his death. One of which had been signed by nearly 20,000 by mid-July.
If you wish to partake in the auction and potentially “win” this memorial amiibo, you can check it out here. The auction ends on October 8, 10:21PM ET / 7:21PM PT.
