Incandescent Imaging announced today that their Kickstarter project, Caffeine, is headed to the PlayStation 4. If funded, the game will launch on both PC and PS4. Caffeine is a sci-fi horror Unreal Engine 4 game for PC and PS4 with Oculus Rift support.
Yes, that’s the name of the game
Caffeine is a quirky first person psychological horror game that includes puzzle-based exploration. Set in the near future of 2097, Earth’s resources have run dry decades ago and big corporations have built vast fleets of mining space stations to mine the minerals required to create caffeine and energize billions.
You awaken aboard one of these caffeine mining stations, alone. Before long, you realise that you are a young boy with no memory of what has transpired on this seemingly empty space station.
Naturally you set out to explore the depths of the huge structure to figure out what exactly is going on…
Caffeine is currently already in development utilising the power of Unreal Engine 4, which makes the game visually stunning to look at.
“There has been an overwhelming amount of people contacting me recently asking for me to bring Caffeine to the PlayStation 4 and I have made a decision today on this matter. I am excited to announce that if funded I will be signing up as a PlayStation 4 developer and will get Caffeine up and running on PS4. Although it may not release at the same time as the PC version, I will be making sure that it will be optimised and be a great experience”

The game is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, needing $70,000 to meet its funding goal. With 26 days to go, we may see this game soon on the horizon.
Now I’m not one for horror games, but seeing Caffeine with an Occulus Rift headset might be really awesome. I had the chance at the Game Developers Conference to try out the headset and I have to say, I was impressed.
Head to the Kickstarter page to back this project! There’s also a free demo on the page for anyone to try out.
