Using a console controller for PC games is nothing new. There are a wide range of products that fill that role, but players tend to gravitate towards the Xbox and PS4 controllers. Cutting the cord and utilizing the wireless freedom that comes with consoles is very enticing, and the fact that Sony has recently applied for certification for a wireless Bluetooth adapter is something that may make that dream come true.
The filing was originally found by DualShockers, and their analysis of the filing has them leaning towards the application being applied to PlayStation’s DualShock 4 controller. The current DualShock 4 controller can be used with third party adapters and through wired connections, but an officially licensed product makes using the DualShock 4 more appealing.
