The time has finally come, my friends. I know you have been anxiously awaiting it since you first learned from GameStop that there would be a limited edition Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD available for pre-order. Originally, this pre-order announcement didn’t even appear in every location, and besides stating you would receive a “free limited edition upgrade” with your pre-order, not much else was known about it.
Hold on to your Chocobo, because PlayStation’s blog has officially announced that included in this pre-order is a beautiful art book. Yes, an art book. Seriously, that is all that you get. Disappointed? If so, you aren’t alone. Many fans were hoping for something else, such as music from the games.
Additionally, it is not yet known when the game will be released besides the much repeated comment from Square Enix’s Phil Elliot:
The release is set for 2013, but I don’t have anything more precise just yet I’m afraid.
The limited edition will only be available for the PS3 and PC. Those who are looking to get this edition of the coveted FF games might also like to know many sites have sourced Japanese publication Shounen Jump as stating there will be an extra 30 minute cut scene for the end of X-2. No details or confirmation has been given from Square Enix yet.
