Star Wars Battlefront is rolling out a closed alpha for PC gamers everywhere on the EA Origin service. Starting today, players can apply to get into the closed alpha from EA’s website, but keep in mind that it is a closed period for testing the game, so only a limited of number of players can join.
In an email to Polygon, EA stated that the specifications required for the game are :
- CPU: Quad Core CPU e.g. Intel Core i5-2300 @ 2.8 GHz or AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.2 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
- RAM: 6 GB
- OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit operating system required)
- Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 with 2 GB of Video Memory
The purpose of this period is so that EA and DICE can perform a bunch of technical tests to help with further development of the game. With that said, EA does warn players that this will not be the final version of Star Wars Battlefront, so expect to find bugs and server issues within the alpha. EA also does mention that any progression with your character will not carry over to the full game.
Star Wars Battlefront will be hitting store shelves on November 17th, so this is your chance to help guide the developers toward a successful launch. EA will continue taking application until June 29th 4:59PM PDT.
