The newest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor story trailer has been released by Electronic Arts and Respawn, and it sets up the stakes for Cal Kestis’ next adventure. Taking place five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal and his fellow Jedi knights have been displaced even more and are looking for a new safe haven from the Empire. On their journey to get there, they’ll fight against overwhelming odds and against some dastardly new villains.
With the previous game taking place during the events of Order 66 as seen in Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, Survivor is set to tackle an era of Star Wars that’s seeing expansion from Disney. There will be less of a reliance on film characters here, which is good for differentiating Cal’s story.
As for gameplay, there seems to be a new system where Cal can team up with fellow Jedi and tackle enemies together. There is no co-op support as this is strictly a single-player game, but you won’t be completely alone when facing off against stormtroopers.
Visually, Jedi: Survivor will take advantage of next-generation hardware in ways that we haven’t seen yet. With the game set for release exclusively on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, there will be no holding back when it comes to the size of each planet or the number of foes present. It should result in a suitably bigger and better installment than before.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release on April 28, 2023. Pre-orders will come with an Obi-Wan Kenobi-inspired “Jedi Survival” cosmetic pack.
