Steam Summer Sale Hype Causes Store Shut Down

The hype for the Steam Summer Sale is so enormous that the second the sale began, the servers couldn’t handle it. Users may now get an error message,

The Steam Store is experiencing some heavy load right now. Please try again later. 

Error 503 Service Unavailable  

It is even telling me that I’m in offline mode.  You can already tell how excited everyone is because we killed it.  The excitement is just too much for Steam to handle.

I hope to see the store in working order soon so I can throw my wallet at them.  I already trolled the store and have my wish list ready to go.  Steam seriously, take my moneys.

This post is as of 1:00PM EST 7/11/2013, I will report back in this post when the store is up and running again.  Hopefully this will be soon.

I’ve made it in as of 1:15PM EST.  I’m not sure if this means I was in a queue and now I’m able, you might not be able to on first try.

Upon searching for a game at 1:20PM EST I got the same heavy traffic error again.
