Fallout 4 is one of the most unique entries in the franchise, not only because of its story but also because of the strange scenes you can find in the Wasteland. While strange mannequins are well known, another weird scene has been uncovered, leaving fans divided about a possible pop culture reference.
The Strange Fallout Scene Dividing Fans
As pointed out by jmyersjlm on Reddit, when traveling through the Wasteland, you may uncover the scene of a dead raider, settler, and glowing ghoul. The humans seem to be missing their feet, and glowing green blood litters the scene. At first, it looks like just another scene of chaos that matches the tone of Fallout 4, but the placement and vibrancy have created some creative theories among those who encounter it.
Fans sounded off in the comments. One suggested the glowing green blood is a reference to Predator. Coupled with the missing limbs, it’s an ideal callback to such an iconic sci-fi horror movie. With aliens already confirmed in the Fallout franchise, seeing something related to the Predator is enough to get the gears turning. Even still, another user noticed a possible nod to the iconic Spaghetti Western, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly — the good being the settler, the bad being the raider and the ugly being the glowing ghoul. There’s also the possibility that the scene could be related to Saw, considering one of the characters is missing a foot, and the ghoul could represent John Kramer, who was the corpse between the two prisoners in the movie.
What Does the Fallout 4 Scene Actually Represent?
While this scene could convey many callbacks, one Reddit user made the truth of the matter prevalent by showing what transpired was a deal gone wrong. On the other hand, the truth could also be something far more deadly.
It’s possible that what transpired here was a drug deal gone wrong, thanks to a glowing ghoul that wanders its way into the deal. However, if you find a wrecked car in the area and pick up a stuffed monkey named Jangles, you will be greeted by a behemoth that will attack. As a result, it’s possible that the behemoth killed the trio or, at the very least, the ghoul ruined the deal, and the behemoth ensured there were no survivors. Nevertheless, Fallout 4 is no stranger to creating mysteries; this is another fine example.
