Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Reportedly Delayed

A new report suggests that Rocksteady's follow-up to the Batman Arkham games will now launch in the second half of 2023.

Per a new report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, WB Games and Rocksteady’s Justice League: Kill the Suicide Squad has been delayed until the second half of 2023 following the response to its recent gameplay showcase.

For all intents and purposes, the footage shown during Sony’s latest “State of Play” did not look very appealing and fans have been vocal in their concerns over the quality of the final game.

Another big issue on gamers’ minds is the online requirement that Suicide Squad has. While that makes sense for the game’s four-player co-op mode, the official FAQ for Kill the Justice League revealed that an online connection would need to be active even for single-player gameplay. These two factors have likely given WB Games pause, contributing to the potential delay.

It is highly unlikely that the battle pass system that is going to be included will be dropped, but there is clearly a lot going against Suicide Squad at the moment. With all of this in mind, it seems plausible that we won’t be seeing the game until the latter half of 2023. It becomes even more possible considering the shaky state that Gotham Knights launched in, even if that comes from a different developer.

For now, WB Games and Rocksteady have not made any official confirmation of Bloomberg’s story and did not respond to any requests for comment from the publication. We’ll likely hear news sooner rather than later on the state of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game is currently scheduled for a May 2023 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
