Syberia 3 has a release date

The third installment of the Syberia adventure game series officially has a release date. Syberia 3 will hit shelves December 1 of this year on four platforms: PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The developer teased the upcoming release date with a Facebook post about upcoming news on May 16; they announced the release date four days later.  

Syberia first debuted as a computer game in 2002, followed within two years by a sequel. Syberia 3’s development was announced in 2009, and after facing a number of hurdles involving funding and console negotiations, official development finally started in 2012.

Though the first two games of the series followed the same storyline, the third will explore another side of protagonist Kate Walker’s story. This allows for gamers new to the series to pick up right with the third installment without any confusion on past plotlines. Game Informer reports that Syberia 3 boasts impressive visuals and enjoyable puzzles.
