The teaser trailer for indie game The First Tree gives players a preliminary look at gameplay through the eyes of an animal.
The First Tree is a third-person exploration game where players act as a mother fox trying to get back to her cubs, who have been separated from her. The game has two plot lines that follow both the mother fox and a couple who have recently undergone a tragedy. Along the way, the fox looks for her cubs and pieces together what caused the tragedy by collecting artifacts about the couple.
The game is created by David Wehle, who also created Home Is Where One Starts. The indie creator is currently still working on the third-person game, but expects the release date to be in 2017.
The game will be 1 to 2 hours long, according to Wehle on the game’s website, and the price will most likely reflect that length. He also said in an article he wrote on the game engine Unity’s website that players who enjoyed Journey, Gone Home, or Firewatch, will enjoy The First Tree.
While concrete details about the game are still few and far between since the release of the teaser trailer almost a month ago, we can expect more information to be coming soon.
