Recently, Activision released a new gameplay trailer for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. This new game in the long-running skateboard series is going to launch on September 29 of this year at the usual retail price of $59.99 for PS4 and Xbox One. While the game’s combo-heavy skating actions looks as though they could be fun, the rest of the game looks like it could use a spit-shine.
The gameplay trailer shows off a few different locations, all of which look bland and empty. While the stages are my main concern, the character models were also lacking. They weren’t terrible, but could stand to be upgraded a bit.
While the game does give off the same vibe as the 1999 original, it looks like it’s going to need a serious upgrade in a short amount of time to be worth full-retail value. While I doubt the game will “bad”, the quality just isn’t up to snuff. At this stage, I seriously doubt I am going to be picking up this one at launch.
