The iTunes store and Google Play store have a lot of free games to choose from, but only a select few are popular enough to get into the top five spots. Check out which games made the cut for the Apple iPhone, the Apple iPad, and Android mobile devices.
Top iOS Games for the Apple iPad
1. Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores
This game is pretty self-explanatory: hunt dinosaurs for fun! It’s not exactly Jurassic Park, but it’ll do.
2. Jenga
Everybody remembers that nerve-wracking game where picking the wrong block means the tower goes “timber”!
3. Sonic Jump Fever
Sonic has been around since the early ’90s. Now almost 25 years later, he’s still running, jumping and turning himself into a powerful blue ball – this time to beat the clock and be the best.
4. Assassin’s Creed Pirates
The Assassin’s Creed series has taken gaming by storm. Play as a ruthless pirate, take on kingdoms and collect all the “booty.” Captain Jack Sparrow has nothing on this game.
5. Holly Hobbie & Friends: Fashion Party
Perfect for anyone’s little girl (ages four and up according to the iTunes store), this cute game allows young gamers to play dress up with Holly and her friends, experience a spa day, jump in the studio and make a song, and so much more.
Top iOS Games for the Apple iPhone
1. Timberman
The iTunes store describes Timberman as an “old-school game.” Chop some trees, avoid falling sticks… Simple, right?
2. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood
As if this woman doesn’t hog the spotlight enough… Now she has a mobile game?! According to Forbes.com, her app is a $200 million dollar hit app. Everybody wants to be like Kim: an A-List celebrity. Will gamers learn how to do that by playing this game? Probably not, but they’ll have fun trying.
3. Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores
More fun on the iPad than the iPhone, eh? The mobile gaming community has spoken…
4. No Brakes
Two words: “fast racing”. Steer any way possible; there’s no braking.
5. Guess The Emoji
Interpret the pictures, guess the phrase or word. Be careful, it’s addicting.
Top Google Play Games for Android
1. Guess The Emoji
The “pictionary” type game went from number five on the iPhone to number one on Android mobile devices. Keep gamers guessing…
This game is Bust-A-Move reincarnated. Use corresponding colored bubbles to pop all the bubbles within a certain amount of moves. Fun and addicting!
3. Don’t Tap The White Tiles
Like Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores, this game title is also self-explanatory: don’t tap the white tiles. Can’t get much clearer than that.
4. Candy Crush Saga
There’s enough candy in this game to give cavities to every gamer on the planet! Match three of the same candies to move ingredients to the bottom of the screen, eliminate jelly, and more.
5. Stick Death
Google Play store calls this morbid game “a great and challenging puzzle kill game.” So death to the sticks! Poor sticks…
Be sure to check out all these games and more on iTunes and Google Play.
