Earlier today, a parody Twitter account was created with the name of the founder of Valve and the Lord of PC Gaming, Gaben Newell. Although the Twitter account is not actually Newell himself, fans are taking the tweets as the newest rumor for the dream that is Half-Life 3.

At time of this writing, the Twitter account has 14.4 thousand followers. The account says that it was only created to tell people that “It’s confirmed,” and it’s starting a “#VerifyGaben” campaign. No one is really sure what he is referring to, but with all the teases and hopes of a third Half-Life game over the past few years, and the image of 3,333 people liking a tweet, people are believing this is what the Twitter account may be referring to.
The first Half-Life was released in 1998 with the sequel being released in 2004. Half-Life 2: Episode 1 was released in 2006 and then Episode 2 was released a year after in 2007.
Along with all the other rumors of a new addition to the famous franchise, this may be just that. Other games that could be referenced by these tweets include Left 4 Dead 3, or my ultimate dream, Portal 3. Only time will tell if if Half-Life 3 will finally be released, but with no confirmed rumors about it, the release of this highly wanted game is probably not happening yet. And with E3 around the corner, it seems like an expected time to build up hype for a new Half-Life.
