You know it will be a good day when the first thing you see on getting home is telling you your account might be compromised, and that is exactly what I found on returning home today and checking my email. Ubisoft has sent emails out to account holders to inform them they were hacked and the hackers in question accessed personal information of account holders.
This personal information could include usernames and passwords, as well as email addresses. While the email is adamant about assuring no payment information was compromised, that information stored elsewhere as is the norm nowadays, payment information seems to be the only thing they can guarantee is secured.
The hack in question was supposedly limited to a single one of Ubisoft’s websites, which might prove to be a limiting factor in regards to what information was compromised, but without specific information about such it can only be assumed the site was used more as a gateway into Ubisoft itself than as the actual target.
Time to change all my passwords again.
