Upcoming Xbox One Title: Project Spark

Project Spark is the confirmed game-building title for Xbox One and Windows.

Among the many games Microsoft decided to show off at E3 this year during their conference, Project Spark is both the most unique and the most familiar.  The title is both an Xbox One exclusive and able to make full use of the upcoming console’s Kinect microphone and voice recognition to craft entire gaming worlds.

In the course of their display demo, players were shown to be able to create an entire landscape using voice commands such as “Show me rivers” and “Show me Arctic” as well as controlling the time of day and overall lighting with similar voice commands such as “Night” and “evening”.

The demo also showed the ability to assign player-supporting AI to a rock, creating a friendly rock golem to defend the player against goblin minions (also spawned by the player) and later even display terrain modification capabilities and a drastically upgraded rock ally to oppose a larger-scale goblin attack.

The possibilities look good, with the closest comparison I can come up with being a real-time Little Big Planet with voice commands.
