The Villager amiibo is being reprinted. Right now, though, the reprint is only for the Japanese version of the amiibo. The first 1st edition of the Villager amiibo was released back in November 2014 to be used with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS. Nintendo has made minor edits to the amiibo.

The updated amiibo features rounded, lower-set eyes. Originally, Villager was considered a rare find in collecting and buying amiibos. Villager is a part of the “Holy Trinity” of amiibo, alongside Marth and Wii Fit Trainer (due to their rarity). The Villager amiibo is from the world of Animal Crossing. Villager is the 2nd best-selling amiibo in the United States and Canada. It’s also the 3rd best-selling in Europe and 4th best-selling in Japan (and 9th in Australia). Once the amiibo gets its reprint, it may or may not be considered rare anymore.

Right now, Japanese fans are preordering the amiibo. There also isn’t any news on a western release.
