Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios head, broke the news to Joystiq. His three simple words in regards to the Vita seeing a price cut have stabbed me in the heart: “No, it’s not.”

Joystiq claims Yoshida cited the exchange rate as being the reason the handheld will not be lowering in price outside of Japan. The Japanese Vita MSRP will be reduced to 19,980 yen on February 28. Them’s the breaks, I guess.
