Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures has been officially announced to release this fall. Namco Bandai announced today that the newest adventures of Pac-Man will be packed with fun for the new and old generations.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures will coincide with the newly anticipated animated series of the same name created by Avi Arad, founder of Marvel Studios. The game revolves around the vibrant universe of Pac-World. The mischievous Netherworld ghosts, led by their wicked leader Betrayus (who would ever think this guy would be nice), have escaped from their ghoulish domain and are trying to take over Pac-World. Looks like Pac-Man and friends are the only ones who can save Pac-World with insatiable hunger for fruit and ghost-eating abilities!

The newest chapter in the Pac-Man franchise will combine gameplay that all ages can enjoy. You will continue to chase and be chased by ghosts but in the newly imagined realm of Pac-World, which looks pretty awesome. Instead of the classic arcade maze usually associated with the Pac-Man franchise, your setting will be a bustling and colorful 3D city filled with fluorescent ghosts to munch on.

“With its long-standing history, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures emerges as a new and reimagined Pac-Man universe, which still retains classic gameplay elements that will appeal to a whole new generation of gamers,” says Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing and Digital Sales at Namco Bandai Games America.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures will be available this fall on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U with an exclusive side-scrolling version of the game coming to the Nintendo 3DS.
