Without any clue as to what kind of game it will be, Sega has trademarked “Sonic Lost World.” It will most likely be the same old 3D Sonic formula they have been releasing for a long while now, but Sega really has the chance to do something different here.
What should Sonic Lost World be? Well, the team has shown with Sonic ’06 that it is capable of writing some horrendously awful, fan fiction level storylines. The team should embrace that and turn the new game into a Sonic and Jurassic Park crossover.
Hold on to your chili dogs.
While further looking into Chaos Theory, Dr. Jeff Goldblum accidentally stumbles upon a way to create emeralds that manifest the very essence of the theory into a tangible form. (It’s not related to the actual mathematics, but no one in the audience will know or care!)
This all occurs before the first Jurassic Park. Dr. Jeff Goldblum pockets the emeralds and the events take place like they do in the movie up until a certain point.
Where the plot differs, though, is during the scene with the T-Rex attack. For some unexplained and totally wacky reason, Dr. Jeff Goldblum shouts out “Chaos Control!” causing him and the dinosaurs on the island to be transported elsewhere, saving the rest of the visitors on the island.
This still happens.
Dr. Jeff Goldblum wakes up a few days later after having been in a temporary coma. Surrounding him are Sonic and friends who explain to him that Dr. Eggman found his unconscious body after he teleported to Sonic’s universe, stole the chaos emeralds from his pockets, and began using them to control the dinosaurs and take over the world.
The gameplay for Sonic Lost World will be quite varied. At certain points, the player will control different characters, like Sonic, Knuckles. Dr. Jeff Goldblum, etc.
Sonic levels will be about rolling around at the speed of sound, Knuckles will be trying to find the chaos theory emeralds (while rap music plays, of course), and Dr. Jeff Goldblum will team up with Shadow in a co-op, third person shooter dinosaur hunt.
As the story of Sonic Lost World unfolds, we get to see Amy make the hardest decision she’s ever faced: does she pick Sonic or the handsome doctor?
My one true pairing.
The soundtrack will be done by John Williams, featuring everyone’s favorite Sonic songs in an orchestral form.
Sonic Lost World and the Great Goldblum Experiment will be in stores this November. It will be a Polystation exclusive.
Still better than this game.
