Due for release in November the $499 console (Microsoft’s most expensive one to date) has courted controversy in its short time since it was announced, but we finally have a rundown of what gamers will receive when they open their packaging for the first time.

So what can you expect in your box?

  • Well first and foremost the Console itself, which comes with a slot drive, the ability to play Blu Rays and inbuilt Wireless Connectivity (which we had in 2006 when the PS3 was released).
  • 4k enabled HDMI cable
  • Headset
  • Kinect
  • Controller
  • Power Supply Unit (yes there is still a brick of a power pack)
  • Manuals
  • And most importantly, a sticker!

If you have been lucky enough to pre-order a day one version you also receive an exclusive commemorative controller instead of the regular one, collectible box art and exclusive content in-game which allows you to unlock unique items and experiences.

Many critics have come out to discuss the similarities to the PS3 when it was released, and it’s hard to silence them, it was the first thing I thought when I watched the Major’s video.

Watch yourselves and sound off in the comments.
