Whispers of World of Warcraft‘s next expansions have been making their way across the community, but it wasn’t until today during the Blizzcon opening ceremony that the expansion was unveiled. It’s called Shadowlands.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will take players to, well… The Shadowlands. Sylvanas’ vie for power continues as she takes the Frozen King’s crown for herself, and whatever happens from there is anyone’s guess as of now.
WoW Shadowlands will bring players into an entirely new realm, where new dungeons and a new gameplay system called covenants await. More of the expansion will be shown later during the convention.
Players who have kept their finger on the pulse of WoW‘s story will find no surprise in the fact this latest expansion will feature the Shadowlands, but there are sure to be plenty of surprises to find and experience in such an ancient land.
You won’t have to wait to pre-order this baby, though. You can do it right now on Battle.net, though its release date has yet to be announced.
Blizzcon 2019’s just started and there’s plenty more to be seen as it presses on. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Blizzcon and World of Warcraft news over the duration of the convention.
