As seen in the previous post about fishing, World of Warcraft patch 5.2 is delivering quite a bit of new goodies for some of the side professions. Not only are they adding new content for fishing, but archaeology is getting some love with the new addition of the Mantid race to the civilizations whose artifacts you can dig for.
Mantid archaeology doesn’t seem to be too special in terms of what you can get as rewards. Through uncovering Mantid Amber Fragments, you will be able to piece together various artifacts related to Mantid history, just like all the other types of archaeology One of the neater items you can get is a Praying Mantid, which sheds some light on the priesthood past of the Mantids.
I haven’t delved too deep into archaeology but it’s really neat to see things like this added into WoW. It really does a good job of fleshing out the cultures of various races, especially the ones who only get limited screen time, say for an expansion or so.
