WoW 5.3: Mouth-Watering Mounts Aplenty

WoW 5.3 brings us the color changing Faerie Dragon and much more.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

In Mists of Pandaria, Blizzard has given more opportunities for players to get mounts than ever before it seems. The upcoming World of Warcraft patch 5.3 seems like it’s sticking with that approach.

Armored Dragonhawk

The first mount we will be looking at is the Armored Dragonhawk. You get it from an achievement for owning 200 mounts called Mount Parade and it comes in two different colors depending on faction. (Aptly named Blue Armored Dragonhawk and Red Armored Dragonhawk (source))

As of WoW 5.3, all resilience will be removed from the Armored Dragonhawk.

I love the look of both of these mounts. Too bad I haven’t even reached 100 yet.

Steel Warhorse

Up next, we get the amazing looking Steel Warhorse (source) with the weirdest looking tail in existence:

See how ridiculous its tail looks in action here!

To quote an eloquent YouTuber:

“How the hell does someone not raise their hand on the art team and say “ugh, that tail looks f@*$&%g stupid, please change it.” – JinxrGaming

Pegasus Mount

Up next, we’ve got two more mounts that seem based on faction. So far, the name that’s given is “Pegasus mount,” although that will assuredly change. Here they are (sources here and here)

Still doesn’t beat the pegasus from Disney’s Hercules.

Faerie Dragon

The last mount we have seen for WoW 5.3 so far is possibly the strangest mount in the game. At first, I was under the impression that it was, yet again, another faction based mount. However, video footage that has been datamined suggests that it may, in fact, be a mount that is constantly changing color.

The Faerie Dragon:

Not much has been released so far about how to obtain any of the new Wow 5.3 mounts other than the armored dragonhawks. If I were to venture a guess, due to its unique nature, the Faerie Dragon will most likely be a premium mount available in the store.

Either the Pegasus or the Steel Warhorse will be a mount gotten from doing dailies, assumedly, whereas the other might be a PvP reward or something to that effect.

Which mount from WoW 5.3 are you most excited for? I personally might cave and throw $25 at the Faerie Dragon. It’s just too pretty to resist.
