WoW: Lunar Festival 2013 is Here!

The Lunar Festival started January 27th and ends February 9th.

Lunar new year is soon approaching IRL, which means that it’s time for the Lunar Festival in Azeroth. World of Warcraft‘s celebration for 2013 doesn’t really add anything this year, but it gives an opportunity for those who have yet to get the meta achievement to finally get it.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Lunar Festival, it’s a celebration held by the druids of Moonglade to celebrate the heroes of the past who defeated the Burning Legion. It’s also, since the druids are involved, a celebration of Elune.

Most of the holiday celebrations for World of Warcraft feature a boss fight and the Lunar Festival is no different.. This one is a fight against a wolf demigod driven insane by the Burning Legion named Omen. Defeating him is, obviously, part of the meta achievement.

Out of all the different holiday celebrations in Azeroth, the Lunar Festival is definitely one of my favorites. It might not give you gear, but it’s definitely a good holiday for those of us who love who play on RP servers in WoW.
