At the XBOX Reveal conference today, Marc Whitten spoke briefly on the new Kinect.
Every XBOX ONE will come with a built in Kinect sensor.
Marc Whitten claims that the Kinect for the XBOX ONE will respond uniquely to
“you, your voice, and your gestures.”
Whether this is just corporate hype or not is yet to be seen, but it sounds like it will be tailored for every individual who uses the console.
According to Whitten, it only takes 13 billionths of a second for the device to react to what you do. It also transfers data at 2GB/S, or as Whitten puts it
“rocket science level stuff.”
He claims that it will be lag-free.
The camera is 1080p, meaning you can webcam in HD when you use Skype with your new console.
In comparison to the old Kinect, the one for the XBOX ONE has more joints for the skeleton, it understands orientation better, it can match the transfer of weight and muscle, as well as being able to read your heartbeat as you exercise.
Stay tuned for more information on the XBOX ONE Kinect as more gets revealed.
