Zelda: Tears of the Kindom Final Trailer Confirms Fan-Favorite Villain

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will see the return of a fan-favorite villain that is looking to conquer Hyrule.

Nintendo has released the final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom before the game’s launch next month and it has managed to pack in a few new details about the game. Confirming more of its story, we see expansions to the game’s combat, additional sidekicks for Link, and the confirmation of a fan-favorite villain.

Many had been speculating about this since Tears of the Kingdom’s first announcement five years ago, but the infamous Ganondorf will be the main antagonist in this latest Zelda outing.

Exactly how he fits into the story and whether or not any of the plot elements from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be present is yet to be seen. What we can figure out from this trailer is that Link won’t be doing combat alone. There are brief glimpses a few minutes in of Link summoning the champions to aid him in battle. Sidon even gets his time to shine here.

Everything else seen raises more questions than answers, but that’s exactly what Nintendo wants. If we knew everything beforehand, there wouldn’t be any point in exploring Hyrule again. More than Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom looks set to provide answers, so it’s bound to be a delight when it comes to exploration.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be hitting Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
