Hearthstone Galakrond’s Awakening Chapter 1: How to Beat All Bosses

Tips and strategies on how to beat all the bosses in Galakrond's Awakening Chapter 1 in Hearthstone.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Galakrond’s Awakening is a brand new PvE adventure for Hearthstone that consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 is now available with two wings: League of E.V.I.L. and League of Explorers. Each wing offers three bosses, and if you manage to beat them all, you will be rewarded with four new cards.

The League of E.V.I.L. wing is free, while League of Explorers will cost you 700 gold or $6.99. If you want to beat all six bosses, then follow our tips and tricks below for the best strategies.

League of E.V.I.L. Boss 1: Sir Finley

The first boss is super easy, and you don’t even need to apply any special strategy. Just be as aggressive as you can and trade as little as possible.

Sir Finley will play nothing but Murlocs and Paladin secrets, which are never a threat. His hero power gives minions Rush, but your hero power gives your minions Rebirth, which is far more valuable.

Play some Taunt minions and go face.

League of E.V.I.L. Boss 2: Chenvaala

The second boss is a bit more complicated, but if you follow a certain strategy, you will win in no time.

Your two most important tools are your hero power, which allows you to discover cards in your opponent’s deck, and Shadow Ascendant, which buffs your minions.

Use your hero power to discover Snap Freeze spells from Chenvaala’s deck and use them to kill frozen 4/4 elementals, which the boss summons often. Then protect your Shadow Ascendants by making more copies of them using Mirage Caller.

When your board is well protected, you can go face. You should win this battle in two or three turns.

League of E.V.I.L. Boss 3: The Amazing Reno

The Reno Jackson boss has a passive ability that summons random spells equal to the mana cost of the previously cast spell. That may sound cool, but often it works against his own minions. In this regard, Reno will help you win.

As for your own hero, it would be best to discover Recyclebot minion from your hero power. This minion offers an exchange of three Spare Parts for one destroyed friendly mech. If you’re lucky, you will get three parts that switch the power and health of your minions, and that makes them instantly more powerful.

You can trade a little bit at the start of the match, but as soon as you get your Wrenchcalibur weapon, start going face, and Reno will fall.

The Rewards

League of Explorers Boss 1: Dr. Boom

Dr. Boom can be annoying, because he will generate a lot of armor, just like a Warrior hero. This will consistently pull you away from killing him.

In this case, it’s important to keep buffing one minion until it becomes really big, using Explorer’s Hat and Dire Frenzy, so you can eventually kill Boom with one shot.

Obviously, you will have to protect such a minion by casting Cornered Sentry and trading with Boom’s mechs. Once your big buffed minion survives long enough, Dr. Boom’s armor will deteriorate.

League of Explorers Boss 2: Avalanchan

The second boss of the second wing is a high-level boss with 150 HP. That’s a lot, and you will not be able to beat him with minions alone.

Here is the best way to subdue Avalanchan:

  1. Play early minions
  2. Use your hero power to summon elementals that will cast your spells twice
  3. Protect them by trading and removing enemy minions
  4. Draw Archmage Antonidas
  5. Accumulate cheap spells in your hand
  6. Draw at least one copy of Arcane Power spell
  7. When Avalanchan drops below 100 HP, play Antonidas
  8. Generate at least two Fireball spells
  9. Kill Avalanchan using Arcane Power and Fireball

If you have at least two hero power elementals on board, and two copies of Arcane Power, your Fireballs should deal 46 damage each. From there, it should be enough to finish this boss.

League of Explorers Boss 3: Kriziki the Winged

There is no special strategy with the final boss, and you can be as aggressive as you want.

You will have a lot of minions in your possession and a Perfect Idea card, which will allow you to discover the most suitable card for the given situation in the vein of Zephrys, and completely for free.

So you are basically destined to win this match-up no matter what. Just go face and be happy to get your rewards.
