Amiibos are still going strong and show no signs of slowing down.

How are amiibos doing one year later?

Amiibos. Love or hate them, you cannot deny how insanely popular they are. It’s been close to one year since their release in November 2014, and I don’t think anyone could have predicted what they have turned into.

One year into their release, the amiibo fad is still going strong and shows no signs of slowing down.  In a few weeks, the last of the Super Smash Bros.main cast will finally be released as amiibos, with Mii Fighters being the icing on the cake. However, fans can look forward to the DLC characters getting their own amiibo figures as well in the near future.

Amiibos are still looking insanely popular even if they are not related to the Super Smash Bros. series. Walking into my local Gamestop a few days ago reminded me of that when I hopped in a huge line to pick up the newly released Yarn Yoshi amiibos.

If you’re looking to collect amiibos, be prepared to make numerous journeys to different stores only to discover that they are sold out. But, it’s all worth it in the end when you can proudly claim that you are an owner of a unicorn class amiibo.

The biggest advice I can give to amiibo hunters out there is to pre-order them or simply collect the ones you want, if you want to keep your wallet healthy. Happy hunting to all you amiibo fanatics out there!
