One of the steps of the Luna’s Calling quest in Destiny 2 has you looking for an enemy called the Trove Guardian. He’s a Hive Knight that only appears in specific places at specific times, and that’s why we’ll show where to find the Trove Guardian in this guide.
Where to Find the Trove Guardian in Destiny 2
You can find the Trove Guardian in one of three places on the Moon: Archer’s Line, the Hellmouth, or the Anchor Light. His spawn location rotates weekly. In my investigations for this piece, I found him at both Archer’s Line and the Hellmouth. I’ve also seen him in the Anchor of Light during my personal playtime.
Archer’s Line Trove Guardian Location
The Archer’s Line Trove Guardian is to the left of the entrance to the zone if you’re coming from the Sanctuary landing zone. He’s tucked behind a small dome in the bottom left corner of the area. He’ll be just beneath the southern end of the large causeway that spawns the zone if he spawns there this week.
Hellmouth Trove Guardian Location
The Hellmouth Trove Guardian tends to hang around just to the right of the Witch’s Ritual Public Event spawn in the northwest of the zone. The easiest way to get there is to fast travel to Sorrow’s Harbor and head south to the Hellmouth, turn right once you’re there, pass through the entrance to the underground, then keep a lookout on your left. The Trove Guardian will be near the cliff edge.
Anchor of Light Trove Guardian Location
You’ll find the Anchor of Light Trove Guardian located to the west of the Fallen Ketch (the big ship). He’ll walk along the wall and in the open area near the entrance from Sanctuary, so hang around that area, and he should appear if he’s due to spawn at Anchor of Light.
The Jumping “Puzzle”
Once you’ve killed the Trove Guardian, you’ll receive a message. It reads, “The Trove Guardian has fallen, and a new pathway has opened.” At this point, head to a nearby ledge to activate the small jumping section of the quest.
To get the next platform to appear, head to the very edge and watch and listen for it to appear. It makes a telltale whining sound as it warps in. If you don’t see the next platform, head to the other end of the one you’re standing on. In my testing, you need to be so close to the end of a platform that you’ll think you might fall off. But once you’re on the right side, it should appear without issue.
Each jumping puzzle is five or six platforms long. If you fall to your death, you should respawn on or near the platform where you need to be. Upon reaching the end of the final platform, you’ll come across a chest — also marked on your HUD and once opened — that awards the Toland, the Shattered’s Notes quest item.
With Toland’s notes in your back pocket, you can return to Eris to complete his section of Eris’s story quest.
