Harvesting and Spending Gas.

Recommended Videos

Ahoy mateys! Welcome back, in this part I will go over how to survive waves 10-21 and what you should be building and upgrading. Harvesting and spending gas is an important part of this game, it allows you to send units to the opposing team which makes it tougher for them to defend. You start off with 1 harvester and can have a total of 31. Each harvester costs 50 minerals, which can be tough to figure out when you should buy a harvester or a new unit for defense.

I will tell you this, it’s best to have the defense up first, then when you have a solid defense, you can spend minerals on a harvester. By wave 10 you should have at least 3 or 4 harvesters. On your third harvester, be sure to upgrade their speed boost option, which increases their harvesting speed so you can get gas much quicker to spend.

A strong economy goes a long way!

As you gather gas you want to spend it on units from your buildings that have a large option of units. Each unit in those buildings requires a certain amount of gas and also provides something much better than a nuisance for your enemy. It provides an income that increases the more units you make from gas. At the end of each round you get a certain amount of minerals plus whatever your income is at that time. So if you have an income of 13, you will get 13 extra minerals at the end of the round and the round doesn’t end until all creeps are killed by both teams. So try to save your gas and spend it on the most expensive unit before all of the creeps are killed. There are bars indicating how many creeps are left for each team, the red bar is for the enemy, and the blue bar is your teams remaining creeps.

Upgrading your towers (units).

By wave 6 you should have enough minerals saved up to upgrade one of your Ents into a GUARDian. GUARDians are really good tanks from waves 1-15. After those waves it’s best to get either a Halfbreed or a Yggdrisil, providing you have enough minerals. Place the Halfbreed in front of your GUARDian while keeping the Yggdrisil next to your Sprite. Before you  get those units however, you should make sure you have upgraded all of your units except the Sprite, you can upgrade that later. A good tip is to make sure once you upgrade one of your units, be sure to create another harvester as soon as possible after that.

Time to make the money! Er, I mean gas!

When you have a good defense with GUARDians, Maliai (upgraded ranger), a Halfbreed, or Yggdrisil, start making harvesters and upgrading their speed so you can spend more gas for a greater income! The higher your income, the more towers you can build so it is essential to have a good economy. Stay tuned for part three tomorrow and the last tips I have.
