Wireless crafting comes into play when you need to keep resources moving while you’re overburdened. In this guide, we’ll go over what is wireless crafting in Ark Survival Ascended and how to use it to your advantage.
How to Use Wireless Crafting in ASA
Wireless crafting is one of the new features included in the latest release of Ark. With it, you can store your resources for various crafting needs knowing they can be pulled to the crafter you’re using when the time is right. There are a few caveats to the system, however, including being unable to pull items from storage when crafting in your inventory.
Wireless Crafting Option
I’ve found that there are only a few crafting stations that can use this feature:
- Mortar and Pestle
- Smithy
- Fabricator
Interacting with these fully will show there’s an option to turn off wireless crafting, if you so choose. It’s automatically enabled when you start the game, so you don’t have to worry about checking all of them. Just remember if you did turn one off to turn to back on at a later time or have all your resources with you when using that crafter.
Dedicated Storage Box
The biggest hurdle to using Wireless Crafting is the need for Tek Dedicated Storage. The system doesn’t work with normal storage boxes, no matter how close they are to the crafting station. Only these special containers will do.
To get the Tekgram for Tek Dedicated Storage, you’ll need to beat the Beta Dragon in the Dragon Arena. This boss requires tribute before you can face it, and was considered one of the toughest bosses to defeat on the Island in Ark Survival Evolved. If you want to use the new feature, however, you’ll have to take it down.
Tek Dedicated Storage Requirements
To build the container, you’ll need the Tek Replicator Tekgram, also obtained from killing the dragon. In addition to the crafter, the required materials are:
- Black Pearl x4
- Crystal or Primal Crystal x75
- Element x3
- Metal Ingot or Scrap Metal Ingot x125
- Polymer, Organic Polymer, or Corrupted Nodule x55
Place the containers close to your crafting area to ensure resources will pull from them when needed. Since each box can only contain one type of item, you’ll most likely need a sizeable quantity of them to have most of your resources wirelessly added.
