If you want to enter the Underdark area and complete the “Find the Nightsong” quest, then must solve a puzzle in the Defiled Temple first. This will give you access to the Selunite Outpost, which leads into the Underdark via the statue with the Blood Moon Gem. But doing so isn’t exactly easy or intuitive. Here’s how to solve the Stone Disc puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3, including an alternative way into the Selunite Outpost.
How to Solve the Stone Disc Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3 Detailed
BG3 Stone Disc Puzzle Solution
Once you enter the Defiled Temple, which is located in the Shattered Sanctum, simply follow the path until you arrive in the hall with four stone circles on the floor at coordinates X:436 Y:55. If you look at the stones from where you entered, here’s the order and the number of times that you need to turn them:
- Bottom 3x.
- Left 1x.
- Bottom 1x.
- Top 1x.
- Left 3x.
- Right 2x.
The entrance into the Selunite Outpost will be unlocked just further up via the ladder if you’ve done it right. If you’ve already been interacting with the puzzle before looking up instructions, don’t worry! In the end, you just need all four empty circles to be on the bottom disc, which is shown in the image below.
Alternative Way Into the Selunite Outpost
If you can’t get the Stone Disc puzzle right or you don’t want to waste your time with it, then you can find a lever on the right wall in the northern hall, just across the puzzle. But I must warn you that your character must have at least DC 15 Sleight of Hand (Dexterity), or it won’t pass the check during the lockpicking.
But if your skills are high enough, then you’ll be able to turn the lever without any problems, which opens the same way as the Stone Disc puzzle would. In either case, you’ll have a chance to enter the Selunite Outpost and follow it into the Underdark.
