Playing as the Dark Urge can add new depth to your game, but it brings with it some challenges. You can resist some of your violent urges, but it’s inevitable that your character will commit their first murder during Act 1. So, can you save Alfira as the Dark Urge in Baldur’s Gate 3, or is she destined to be your first victim?
Can You Save Alfira as The Dark Urge in Baldur’s Gate 3?
You can save Alfira when playing as the Dark Urge by preventing her from arriving at your camp early in the game. Another NPC has to take her place as your victim that night, and her replacement is a character whose death doesn’t affect anything else in the game as far as we can tell.
How to Save Alfira as A Dark Urge in BG3
To keep your Tav from killing her, you’ll need to get a little creative. You can do this by turning on non-lethal damage and knocking her out while everyone’s still in Emerald Grove. You can’t have sided with Minthara to make this work.
That night, Quil will arrive at your camp instead of Alfira. Following the same scenario for the Dark Urge, you’ll kill Quil in the middle of the night and be rewarded with the Deathstalker Mantle as normal. From here, your playthrough will continue on with Alfira safe and sound.
While you can save Alfira when playing as the Dark Urge in Baldur’s Gate 3, you might not be able to save other future victims. That’s a big part of the appeal of a Dark Urge playthrough, after all.
