This Legendary Greatsword can be grabbed as early as the end of Act 1. However, the chances of it dropping at that point are quite low. Either way, I’ll cover both versions of how to get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Baldur’s Gate 3
Attacks with the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane have a chance to stun enemies. When wielded by a Githyanki, it deals an extra 1d6 Psychic Damage. A Githyanki with it also has Advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma Saving Throws; Resistance to Psychic Damage; and can’t be Charmed.
Getting the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1
Kith’rak Voss carries this sword, meaning you could retrieve it in Act 1. Find the Githyanki Patrol at the northwest corner of the map. Bring a Cleric with you, and cast Command (Drop Weapon) on Kith’rak. There’s a very, very small chance that he drops the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane here. Technically, you could make a save file here and keep doing it until the weapon drops. However, that might end up wasting a bunch of your time.
Work with Kith’rak Voss in Act 3
And that leaves you with the intended retrieval of the sword in Act 3. First, agree to work with Kith’rak when he visits you at camp. Then, get the Orphic Hammer from the House of Hope or agree to Raphael’s deal to get the hammer. Next, travel to the South Span of Wyrm’s Crossing and enter Sharess’ Caress.
You’ll find Kith’rak Voss on the upper floor in the room called Devil’s Den. You reach it on the third floor by entering from the outside deck that wraps around the building. Speak with him about the Orphic Hammer and receive your Legendary reward.
And that’s how you get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Baldur’s Gate 3. The difficulty varies depending on whether you take Raphael’s deal or fight your way through the House of Hope.
