Raphael holds Hope as a prisoner in her own house, but she doesn’t have to stay there. While you’re in the House of Hope, you can take a detour to save her from torment. Here’s how to rescue Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Rescue Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3
Rescuing Hope adds her to your party for a short time. This means she’ll help you fight Raphael when he stops you at the portal out of Avernus.
Take the Orphic Hammer
Before you can help Hope, you need to stop to get the Orphic Hammer from the Archives. To do this, speak with the Archivist to get a Boudoir invitation, go to the Boudoir, and either find the magical password or make a deal with Haarlep for it.
Find the Prison
Once you have the Orphic Hammer, the NPCs in the House of Hope turn hostile. This means you have to fight your way to the Prison Hatchway to find Hope. The location of the hatch is circled on the map below, and it’s a bit beyond where you’d turn to exit the house.
Break Hope’s Chains
In the hatch, hit the button next to the door to open it. You’ll enter combat with the enemies around Hope once you’re inside. Clear them out and equip the Orphic Hammer to destroy the two crystals that bind her there. After you free Hope, she joins your group as a Cleric and will help in the fight against Raphael at the exit, especially with crowd control and healing.
And that’s how to rescue Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can choose to leave her behind, but if you take the Orphic Hammer and have to fight Raphael, it’s worth stopping to get her for her help.
