Thinking about what to do with the Wounded Mindflayer in Baldur’s Gate 3? Our guide discusses how you can interact with this creature early in the campaign, as well as the results of your actions.
What to Do With the Wounded Mindflayer in Baldur’s Gate 3
- The Baldur’s Gate 3 Wounded Mindflayer can be found near the Nautiloid’s crash site on the beach.
- It might just be the same entity that you fought alongside Commander Zhalk during the prologue.
- One of the interaction options with the creature leads to an instant death.
In any case, I advise being extremely cautious when approaching this creature. In fact, my recommendation is to simply avoid interacting with it. The reason for this is because the Mindflayers implanted your character with a tadpole. Slowly but surely, certain interactions present an option where your character slowly loses control.
This particular concept can be seen when you interact with the Wounded Mindflayer. The only options are to resist and move away, or to lean in for a kiss. Resisting will also require a Wisdom 15 check, which can be hard to succeed in.
Should You Kiss the Wounded Mindflayer?
When I decided to go through with it, the “kiss” instantly killed my character, which meant that they succumbed to the whims of the dark creature. Naturally, this led to a game over, so I had no choice but to reload my latest save. So no, you shouldn’t kiss it.
As an aside, this isn’t the only portion where you’ll encounter someone from the Nautiloid. Whether you saved Shadowheart or not, you might see her in certain locations. The Githyanki, Lae’zel, is also nearby. Sadly, we’re uncertain as to the whereabouts of the Brain Creature that tagged along during the prologue.
And that’s it. That’s all you need to know about what to do with the Wounded Mindflayer in Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s likely that you’ll encounter more Illithid entities as you progress further in the campaign. For more tips and tactics, you can visit our BG3 guides hub.
