Adjust your settings in Dragon's Dogma 2 for the best performance!

We’ve already seen how impressive the graphics are in Dragon’s Dogma 2, just in the character creation alone. However, to properly enjoy the experience, we need to balance visuals and performance. Here’s how to find the best PC settings for performance!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Optimization Settings for PC

If you’re like me, you don’t want to sacrifice a game’s graphics entirely to make it run better, which is why finding a good balance is best when optimizing your game. Before adjusting any of your settings, you’ll want to ensure your PC meets the required specs. This will determine how well the game plays overall and help avoid sacrificing those visuals so much.

Playing on Xbox and PlayStation is a whole different story, but here are the settings we recommend for the best performance on PC that will keep your frame rate high but still ensure you’re game looks great:

Display ModeFullscreen
Screen Resolution1920×1080
(Check your monitor specs for the best choice for you)
VSyncOff
Dynamic ResolutionOn
DLSS Super Resolution/FSR 3Balanced
DLSS Nvidia Reflex Low LatencyOn+Boost
Upscale Sharpness4 (Default)
Rendering ModeProgressive
Image Quality5 (Default)
Ray TracingOff
(Ray Tracing can make a slight difference with visuals but often comes with frame drops, so I would weigh this option for yourself based on how it seems to run on your PC)
Ambient OcclusionSDFAO (Default)
Anti-AliasingTAA (Default)
Screen Space ReflectionsOff
(This is similar to Ray Tracing and will only really make a small difference, so test it out for yourself)
Mesh QualityMin
Texture FilteringLow
(Even on the high graphics preset, this is set to low, and it’s best to keep it there for the best FPS)
Texture QualityMedium (0.25GB)
Grass/Tree QualityLow
(Even on the high graphics preset, this is set to low and it’s best to keep it there for the best FPS)
Resource-Intence Effects QualityLow
Shadow QualityLow
Shadow CacheOn
Contact ShadowsOn
Motion BlurOff
(This doesn’t affect performance, so switch it up based on your own preference)
BloomOn
Depth of FieldOn
Lens FlareOn
Lens DistortionOff
(Just like motion blur or the other little visual effects above, it won’t matter toward your performance, so adjust based on how you like)
Subsurface ScatteringOn
Motion QualityHigh
(Test this out for yourself to determine what works best for you)

Depending on what your specs are and what your PC can handle, these settings may need to have some test runs. It should sit at a comfortable 60+ FPS on the high side with these settings, but it could vary for each player. Try all options to see what works best for you, and run with it!
