The universe of Secure, Contain, and Protect (SCP) games is massive. Titles center around a fictional organization that finds, studies, and imprisons anomalies that shouldn’t be left in the world without supervision. And knowing where to start can be a daunting prospect for those just getting into the genre, especially since many lead to their own fan games of the projects as a whole. You can also find plenty of titles based on a single SCP project. Roblox alone has both types of SCP experiences, and some even put you in the role of the monster. With that in mind, here are the top 10 best Roblox SCP games in 2023.
Top 10 Best Roblox SCP Games to Play in 2023
SCP: Task Force
SCP: Task Force earns the top spot on this list for the work it puts into blending the scariness of SCP with the feeling of an action game. You have a set of missions where you’ve been hired as part of a task force to handle issues that come up at SCP locations. Overall, you can get through the missions in about an hour if you rush, and you receive help from other players. Compared to other experiences, this one feels the most unique, and it has its own plot instead of relying on available information from the world of SCP.
SCP: Roleplay
SCP: Roleplay is the most classic SCP option on Roblox. You choose the role you want to play, from researcher to security to Class-D, which are the people sent into containment zones to test or check on an anomaly. However, you don’t have to be Class-D to see the projects since they wear goggles that let you spectate from a distance if you’re playing a researcher, letting you see the scares without being too involved in them. Plus, the number of experiments included gives you hours of playtime, and it’s continuing to receive updates.
SCP: Anomaly Breach 2
SCP: Anomaly Breach 2 is essentially SCP: Containment Breach made for Roblox, making it a classic in the SCP universe. You take the role of a Class-D, and you’re sent to check on one of the projects at the facility. When it escapes, you need to find your way out without dying. The hard part is that you have to keep blinking, and the project only moves in darkness or when it isn’t seen. This experience stays true to SCP: Containment Breach and turns it into a multiplayer game where you can work with friends to get out.
Project: SCP
Project: SCP is a round-based game, meaning you won’t respawn immediately after death. However, you might find yourself joining the side of the projects as a monster hunting the task force. That’s right: this game has teams and it’s PvP. Work with other players to defeat the opposite team, and then start a new round and try it all again. This set-up means that you can play this experience repeatedly without getting bored because it won’t be the same each round.
SCP Games and SCP Monsters
SCP Games and SCP Monsters is similar to SCP: Roleplay. But instead of visiting different projects and exploring them that way, they spawn at various times and need to be dealt with like that. You can be the person who lets the experiments out of their rooms, freeing them to attack you and other players in the game. If you want, you can also roam around and explore the different experiments here, including Safe ones that don’t kill you.
SCP-096 Demonstration
SCP-096 Demonstration is my personal favorite from this list. In this experience, SCP-096 chases you and other players in a maze, killing people who look at its face. The setting is more fun than the building set-up that most experiences have, and it adds extra difficulty when you have to find your way through a maze while you’re running from a monster that wants you dead. It doesn’t have as much replay value as other experiences listed, but it’s fun and different to play between other games.
SCP: Site Roleplay
SCP: Site Roleplay is basically another version of SCP: Roleplay, but I feel like it has the potential to grow and maybe surpass it with updates. If you spend Robux, you can become one of the projects. However, you don’t need money to enjoy this experience. The layout is different from SCP: Roleplay, and it feels more condensed, which also gives it the air of being a running facility versus being designed to display the experiment options in one area. There’s even a little lab area if you’re playing a researcher so you can collect and test samples.
SCP Rooms 2
In SCP Rooms 2, you seek out the experiments you want to see by following paths on the floor. This experience feels more suitable for exploring the world of SCP with less horror. You can still get spooked by experiments and kill by them, but there’s less focus on combat when compared to other games. This would be a good choice if you’re newer to SCP and want to explore with less risk and horror.
SCP: The Red Lake
SCP: The Red Lake takes a different approach to the way you play SCP experiences. Instead of exploring containment zones, you’re on a team with other players and fighting off waves of enemies. As you play through a round, you get different tasks. During a wave, you might have to focus on protecting a generator. But then there are waves where you just need to clear the enemies. This is another one that offers more potential for replaying it since the rounds won’t be the same and you can earn currency to get new items.
SCP in the Forest
SCP in the Forest is a fun idea, but it needs polishing. There seem to be sound issues, and knowing where different experiments are around you takes away what could be a scary experience. Instead of a building, the projects are spread out in a forest. You get to use a car, which helps, given how far apart the experiments are. For now, this experience is interesting and worth looking at. However, it will need updates to move it up on this list and make it the unique experience it has the potential to become.
And that wraps up our list of the Top 10 best Roblox SCP games to play in 2023. The design of the SCP universe brings endless potential for experiences on Roblox, and updates mean that the content available continues to change.
