Combat in Outcast: A New Beginning is fun, thanks to customizable weapon modules. You can change your style by applying and combining modules to maximize damage. Here are some of the best weapon module combinations to use!
Outcast: A New Beginning Weapon Modules – Best Combinations
Modules are different effects you can apply to your guns that change how they deal damage, their firing mode, and their general stats. You can unlock modules within glowing green chests at different enemy outposts.
To equip modules, head to your Weapon menu, select the gun you want to modify in the middle of the menu, and then equip a module into one of the empty slots at the bottom. You can unlock more module slots using Nano-Cells collected from defeated enemies. The more slots you have available, the more modules you can combine.
Here are few modules that work great together:
Explosive Combination
- Multi-Shot
- Smart Bullets
- Explosive Payload
- Sticky Mines
This is my go-to setup for the Pistol, not only because it’s the most chaotically fun but also because it’s so powerful. Combining the two explosive modules, Explosive Payload and Sticky Mines, double the amount of heat and area damage you’re doing. Plus, adding in Multi-Shot and Smart Bullets creates even more projectiles that will explode and ensures they hit their target dead-on with every shot.
Healing Combination
- Healing Salve
- Magnetic Tracker
- Helidium Saver
- Multi-Shot
Running out of healing in this game is super easy, especially if you’re wandering around to each enemy outpost. The Healing Salve module is a godsend if you’re trying to keep your health up, allowing you to regain some health by taking down enemies. You can ensure you are getting even more healing per shot by tacking on the Magnetic Tracker to lock on to enemies and ensure each bullet is connecting. Plus, use Multi-Shot to fire even more bullets, taking health from multiple enemies simultaneously. The Helidium Saver module will help you get more bang for your buck, in other words, more shots out and health in before you eventually run out of Helidium.
Speedy Combination
- Machine Gun
- Fire Rate Amplifier
- Frenzy
- Cooler
If you’re trying to speed-run through the outposts without taking the time to defeat all the enemies once again, this speedy combination can help you do some more efficiently. Combining the Machine Gun and Fire Rate Amplifier will increase your overall firing speed and are the best ways to boost your combat quickness. Frenzy is a great one to throw on top because it will increase the damage you are doing as your gun begins to overheat, which will happen more often with faster shots. That’s where the Cooler module comes into play, lowering your overheat time and keeping your gun functioning longer.
Sniping Combination
- Scope
- Headshot Booster
- First Shot Booster
- Charged Shot
If you prefer to stay out of the heat and take down your enemies from afar, there are modules to make that possible. First, the Scope module is a must (I would recommend putting this on your Rifle), allowing you to zoom in and better target enemies in the distance. Since sniping is usually one precise shot, the Charged Shot works perfectly to make it more powerful, and you don’t have to worry so much about the speed of it. Then, tack on the Headshot Booster and First Shot Booster to expand on that damage even more. If you hit the enemy in a weak shot, they could go in one to two shots easily.
Stunning Combination
- Concussive Shot
- Electrical Orb
- Reflector
- Energy Consumer
Bigger outposts have more enemies, which can turn out to be quite the challenge, especially when they are all rushing you at once. A great combination of modules will allow you to stun enemies and create space to disengage or take them down one by one. The Concussive Shot is essential for making this happen. It will not only stun enemies for a brief moment but increase your damage to them as well. Mix this with the Electrical Orb and the Reflector module, and it will float out, bounce off walls, and hit multiple enemies at once. The Energy Consumer is just a nice cherry on top, using some of your energy to boost the damage of the attacks and make the combination that much more shocking.
Damaging Combination
- Heat Shot
- Headshot Booster
- Frenzy
- Energy Consumer
- Shotgun Barrel
- Explosive Payload
If you don’t necessarily care about speed, distance, or healing and want to rack up the damage, this combination is for you. The Shotgun Barrel module will give your Rifle or Pistol a shotgun spread, allowing for close-quarters power. Now, pack on all the damage booster modules you can: Heat Shot, Headshot Booster, Frenzy, and Energy Consumer, and you will be hitting insane damage numbers per shot. The tip of the iceberg is the Explosive Payload module, one of the most damaging module effects in general.
Balanced Combination
- Stabilizer
- Machine Gun
- Cooler
- Fire Rate Amplifier
- Concussive Shot
- Headshot Booster
If you want a balanced combination of damage, speed, and efficiency, these are some of the best modules to equip your Rifle. The Machine Gun and Fire Rate Amplifier modules will give you that speed, and mix in the Stabilizer and Cooler modules to counteract the added recoil and overheating. Then, add some extra damage and stunning with a Concussive Shot and Headshot Booster. You’ll keep your gun precise without sacrificing speed or damage.
These are just a few ideas to get you started, but you can switch them up anytime to better fit the situation and your preferred style. Remember to upgrade your modules every once in a while using Nano-Cells as well. This will increase the stats and effects of each module even more. Upgrade each of them up to three times and tell the difference when you head out to battle.
