Whether you’re preparing for a PvE run or a PvP run, make sure to take at least one of the following weapons with you, as they’re currently some of the best weapons in Once Human, and are likely to remain so for quite a while.
Strongest Weapons in Once Human
Best Melee Weapon – Frozen Northern Pike
With all the weirdness going on in the game, it’s no surprise that the best melee weapon in Once Human is a literal fish. The Frozen Northern Pike is the best melee weapon for three reasons.
- It has a decent attack range.
- It has a decent attack speed.
- Its unique effect creates frost vortexes that heal you whenever you attack an enemy affected by them.
What this means, in effect, is that you can keep recovering your HP at the expense of stamina perpetually, so long as you have enough water on you.
Best Assault Rifle – (Rare)KAM
The KAM comes in multiple tiers, but the best of these is the rare tier, i.e., the purple KAM. The reason it’s the best is because of its unique effect, which applies the burn effect on enemies. With mods, it can even outcompete the legendary KAM. Another reason why it’s better than the legendary KAM is that it’s easier to acquire, which is a hidden advantage that not many players talk about.
Best Shotgun – (Rare) DB12
Similarly to the KAM, the best variant of the DB12 isn’t the legendary one but the rare one. It’s also far superior to the ACS12 family of shotguns on account of its superior damage, which is nearly twice that of the ACS12. The only downside to it is that it loses out on the automatic fire capabilities of the ACS12, which really isn’t that big of a deal, all things considered.
Best Sniper Rifle – AWS.338
When it comes to PvP combat, the AWS.338 is your best friend. It has the highest damage out of all the sniper rifles, and its unique effect ensures that the first hit on target will hit like a truck. The AWS.338 is also quite decent for taking out bosses, though the short range you’ll find yourself in these encounters really acts to the detriment of the 338.
Best SMG – (Rare) KV SBR
Out of all the SMGs, the KV is undeniably the best one, with no competition. It has the fastest fire rate, decent damage, and magazine size, which is okay. What’s really good about this variant, however, is its unique ability. By adding crit chance mods to this gun, you’ll effectively create a weapon that shoots an endless torrent of bullets at your enemies. Just be mindful of the added ammunition consumption that’ll come with it.
Best Pistol – DE.50
Considering how good the other weapon types are, there really isn’t a good reason to pick up a pistol. If you do pick one up, make sure it’s the DE.50. Its damage is slightly lower than the R500 series, but that’s just about its only downside; in all other regards, it’s outright superior.
Best LMG – KVD
The KVD has everything you’d want in an LMG. Great damage, a seemingly endless ammunition pool, and a decent performance at any range. Its only downside compared to other LMGs is its recoil and dispersion, which take a little bit to get used to. It also has an amazing, unique ability that’s great for clearing mobs and unassuming players that group together.
Best Launcher – MGL
Of the two launcher options currently in the game, the MGL is by far the better option, both performance-wise and unique ability-wise. The advantage of the MGL is that it doesn’t need to reload after each shot. In addition to that, its unique ability automatically refills your ammunition so long as you land all the shots on target. This is by far one of the best boss-clearing weapons in the game and a definite must-have for everyone.
Best Crossbow – Recurve Crossbow
The Recurve Crossbow is good for one occasion only, and that’s boss hunting. Specifically, it should be used to initiate combos for the rest of your teammates. Its unique ability, which guarantees The Bull’s Eye effect, works great in tandem with better-performing weapons like the KV or even the MGL. Use this weapon only for boss clearing, as it’s likely to underperform in every other instance.
