Build Your Own Hero Guide in DOTA 2!

Create your own Hero Guide and Build for your favorite DOTA 2 Heroes!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

For those of you that don’t know, DOTA 2 is a massive online battle arena (MOBA) game that pits 10 players on a team of 5 to go head-to-head with each other. On one side you have the Radiant, which seem like the goodie-two-shoes of this fantasy land, whereas the Dire on the other side seem much more diabolical and evil.

These two forces wage an all out war battling to destroy each other’s main building in their base called the Ancient. As you play the game your hero that you choose gains levels, as they get stronger they get more items and more abilities. The developers have added a new way to create your own build for every hero so that you can easily choose which setup you would like to use in that match!

All Your Build Are Belong To Us!

Creating your own hero guide is quite simple now, there is an option to do so under the Learn tab and in that there is a Build tab. Once there you have the options to create your own build or browse other builds created by other players. So we are going to create our own build.

Click on Create Build, once you have done that you will see all the heroes. Choose who you would like to make a build for and it will open up 3 options. One option is to give your build a title; you can be as descriptive as you would like so you know what this build will do for this hero.  If the hero is a support, carry, middle lane, off lane or ganker, you would want to put that in the title.

After that, you select the order in which you learn that hero’s abilities, you decide which abilities should be learned and in what order. Lastly, you choose what items the hero will start with, what items he will have during the early game, mid game and finally late game. Once that is finished, click save build at the bottom and you are all set! Get into a game and you will have the option to use that build and see how well it works!

Good luck and I hope to see some great builds out there!
