With a new year comes new Call of Duty pre-order editions, and Modern Warfare 3 2023 is no different. This time around, the standard edition gets you quite a bit no matter the platform you play on. Paying for more expensive editions might get you a leg-up early on, as they grant access to a few additional weapons and features non-paying players won’t have off the start. Here’s what MW3‘s pre-order editions look like.
What You Get for Pre-Ordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 2023
Unlike some previous years, this time around, there are only two editions of Call of Duty to pre-order: the Modern Warfare 3 Standard and Vault editions. The Standard edition, priced at $69.99, comes with few bells or whistles but has a few benefits if you buy in early. The Vault edition offers some extra toys.
What You Get in the Modern Warfare 3 Standard Edition
The Standard Edition of MW3 gives about what you’d expect from a Call of Duty pre-order these days.
- Access to the full game.
- Early access to the beta — PlayStation players get it first, though PC and Xbox players will still probably get in two days early on their time slot.
- Up to a week early access to the campaign — Good for leveling weapons, if that system still exists.
- The Soap Operator Pack — A nifty skin for ol’ Soap MacTavish and a custom weapon blueprint.
The Operator Skin bit is long-running, as is the beta early access, though the campaign access benefit is relatively new. In other words, with the Standard Edition is… standard. It’s just more expensive than ever.
What You Get in the Modern Warfare 3 Vault Edition
The Vault Edition, costing $99.99, offers quite a bit more than the Standard for $20 more. Not only do you get everything the lower-priced version gives, you also get:
- The Nemsis Operator Pack — Price, Soap, Makarov, and what I assume is Makarov’s lieutenant in some scary looking garb.
- Two Weapon Vaults — Custom variants of FATE weaponry from MW3 that comes with every attachment unlocked.
- The Blackcell Offering — the Season 1 Battle Pass, 50 Tier Skips, or 55 on PlayStation, for purchasing Vault, plus all Blackcell Battle Pass content, including skins, weapon blueprints, and more.
And that’s everything you need to know about the pre-order editions for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Fairly standard stuff for the series now, and possibly worth it if CoD is all you play for the year. And if you want to play just the campaign, you can do so early.
