There’s been a lot of speculation after several delays and some not-so-great marketing materials, but today’s the day it’s finally out on Steam. Can you play The Day Before offline, though? Let’s find out.
Can The Day Before Be Played Solo?
Developer Fntastic stated well before the game’s release that The Day Before wouldn’t have offline play. After finally launching the game myself, I can confirm there is no way to play The Day Before solo offline.
Is it Possible to Create a Private Server?
The only play option for The Day Before right now on launch day is to access its official servers. It currently has no support for player-made private servers, nor does it have any sort of offline option. You can only play on the game’s official servers. Let me tell you, though, they are packed to the brim already.
A mere 30 minutes after the game released, all of its servers between North America, Europe, and Asia are either Full or High status. It seems like they’re either dynamically adding servers to accommodate the increasing amount of players, so that at least is a good sign. After the delays and uncertainty surrounding The Day Before over the past few months, we didn’t know whether it was going to be out this year at all. The developers adding new servers to meet player demand right on launch is more than appreciated.
The Day Before is an ambitious open world survival game and promises a lot, we’ll have to see whether it’ll live up to the hype. I’m about to delve in myself, but wanted to give prospective players a heads up about the solo play situation.
With that, we’ve answered your question about whether you can play The Day Before offline or in solo, and now it’s time for me hop on in. Look for upcoming guides on TDB here on GameSkinny.
