Longbow is considered the best sniper rifle for several reasons, not only because it’s very fast and powerful, lending well to quickscoping. If you play at range, you’ll want this gun. Our guide will provide you with the best Longbow loadout build in CoD: Modern Warfare 3.
Best Longbow Loadout Build in MW3
How to Get Longbow
There are two ways to unlock the Longbow sniper rifle in CoD MW3. If you’ve purchased the Vault Edition of the game, then you’ll receive the Longbow rifle by default. But if you play any other edition of the game, then here’s what you need to do:
- Reach Player Level 25.
- Go to the “Armory Unlock Challenges” menu.
- Check the list for specific challenges for Longbow (a total of eight challenges).
- Complete the three daily challenges that specifically unlock the Longbow rifle.
Best Class Setup for Longbow
- Secondary Weapon: WSP Stinger.
- Vest: CCT Comms Vest.
- Gloves: Marksman Gloves.
- Boots: Covert Sneakers.
- Camo: Ghost T/V Camo.
- Best Perks: Sleight of Hand, Quickdraw, Marksman.
- Equipment: Semtex, Flashbang Grenade.
This build isn’t specifically focused on quickscoping, but it can be used for that purpose, too. It’s mostly designed for mixed-range shooting, but with higher efficiency that may result in one-shot kills. The CCT Comms Vest will help you carry more equipment, while Marksman Gloves will help you reduce the swaying and flinching when shooting.
It’s imperative for any sniper class build to stay as stealthy as possible, and that’s where the Ghost T/V Camo comes in very handy. It completely hides you from the enemy radars and allows you to stay in or change your position undetected.
Both Sleight of Hand and Quickdraw perks should be used in any sniper build for faster reload times and aiming down sights (ADS). But I also highly recommend using the Marksman perk, which will help you acquire targets and shoot with higher accuracy at especially long ranges.
Best Attachments for Longbow
- Barrel: Pro-99 Long Barrel.
- Muzzle: HMRES Mod Suppressor.
- Underbarrel: XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop.
- Stock: KV Factory Stock.
- Bolt: SA-M Quickbolt.
- Rear Grip: Citadel LV Tactical Grip.
- Ammo: 7.62 High Grain.
- Laser: SL Razorhawk Laser Light.
When speaking of long-range sniping, you’ll need a corresponding long barrel. I was especially impressed with the Pro-99 Long Barrel attachment that provides consistent accuracy and increased bullet velocity at extremely long distances.
Although your Ghost T/V Camo will hide you from the enemy radar, once you make a shot, there’s a chance of being immediately detected. That’s why you need to equip the HMRES Mod Suppressor, which will hide your shots, keeping them from being seen and heard.
Sniper rifles are infamous for taking a long time to reload. But with the help of the SA-M Quickbolt attachment, your rechambering speed will be significantly increased, allowing you to make consecutive shots much, much faster.
Lastly, if you wish to use Longbow for quickscoping, then also consider the Citadel LV Tactical Grip, which improves the aiming down sights (ADS) speed and stability. You’ll find that locking the targets with this rear grip will be a lot easier than without one.
