Video game collecting is becoming more and more of a habit of gamers in today’s age. Whether this collecting is that of games, memorabilia, consoles or anything game related. These are a few tips to finding and getting what you want.

Garage sales are an awesome place to find great gems. Find local garage sales and go, even if you don’t see games or related material just ask. The worst the operator will say is no. If they have something inside they might grab it. If they bring some old games out chances are they won’t know what they have. Bring cash just in case.

Search, search, search… and search some more. Always look online, there is always someone looking to sell something. I was able to snatch an incomplete Dark Souls Press kit for $107. Missing the demo disc and foam. I got the lighter, case, and character build book. There is always something online. Make sure you know what you’re buying and that you know the worth. There are people that will be more than happy to pull the wool over your eyes if you’re not aware.

Search at local vintage stores too. They will be a bit higher price, but at least it’s reputable and warrantied. The items usually will have a guarantee to work and you can return them. Also easy to check because you could always call ahead if you have something particular in mind.

Just remember you can always find what you’re looking for. Some items are a little harder to find than others. Keep your head straight–collecting is a hobby not an investment.
