Judy Alvarez’s romance questline can be one of the most wholesome in all of Cyberpunk 2077. Getting the good ending gives Judy a lifeline and a companion she sorely needs after two huge losses back to back. The final mission of the chain, called Pyramid Song, is a tour of her past and could lead to you accepting her love, maintaining a friendship, or pushing her away at her most vulnerable. What choice you make is yours alone, but here’s how to complete Pyramid Song.
How to Complete Pyramid Song in Cyberpunk 2077
Note: Only a female V can romance Judy. A male V can still complete Pyramid Song, but there will be no intimate scene near the quest’s end.
How to Start Pyramid Song
To start Pyramid Song, you need to make certain choices in the previous quest, Pisces. The two most important things you must do in that quest are:
- Don’t kill Maiko
- Don’t take her money
To ensure you end up getting to Pyramid Song, when given the choice, side with Judy and decline Maiko’s money. Siding with Maiko and taking her money is the ultimate betrayal and sends Judy into a fury.
With Pisces complete, you should get a text from Judy after a little while saying that she’s waiting for Maiko to spill the beans about her betrayal. At this point, you need to wait for Judy to call to progress. There’s no set time limit on how long it will take to start Pyramid Song. In one playthrough, I only needed to do a few side quests and got the call. In testing for this guide, I had to wait more than a dozen in-game days, complete several quests and gigs, and then do even more waiting. Your mileage will vary.
Once Judy does call you, you’re headed to a lake in the Badlands southeast of Night City. The location will be marked on your map.
Pyramid Song Begins
Once you meet Judy, she’ll ask you to go diving with her. Johnny isn’t keen on the idea, but if you want to keep progressing Pyramid Song, take Judy up on the offer. Grab the wetsuit, put it on, and dive into the water. Follow Judy until you reach a large pillar going into the deep, and do some simple calibration movements for her.
You’ll then descend deep into the lake and begin exploring Judy’s childhood home, now consigned to the depths. You’ll learn a lot more about her as you swim, and there are also two optional item hunting sections that shed even more light on Judy’s past.
Exploring the Submerged Diner
There are four items you can examine near the submerged diner. You’ll first come across the diner’s fallen sign, which prompts Judy to explain some of its history.
Head to the right of the sign for the remaining three items, which include:
- A framed photo.
- A photo camera.
- A hockey stick.
You don’t need to examine any of these items, of course. They’re purely for additional background on Judy’s life. Keep progressing until you reach a gas station. There are three more optional items to find here. They include:
- An umbrella between a support column and a gas pump.
- A broken-down car to the right of the garage.
- A toppled gas barrel on the ground below the edge of the gas pump roof.
Whether you gather the optional items or not, you’ll continue with Judy to a church at the edge of town. To get inside, head to the roof and swim through the hole there. I recommend waiting until Judy exhausts her dialog, as there are some wholesome bits you’ll miss if you go into the church too soon.
Shortly after entering the church, Johnny’s fears turn out well-founded, and V will lose consciousness. When you regain control, Judy will have pulled off a heroic rescue, and you’ll both be back on the dock.
A Night in the Cabin
She’ll lead you into the cabin, then, after discovering the power’s out, you’ll need to turn on the generator outside. When you return, Judy will be in the bathroom, flashing back to losing Evelyn. After sitting down to console her, things get a bit emotional. You can select the kiss dialog option to enter a steamy sex scene if you’re playing as female V. The “Lean away” selection stops the whole thing in its tracks, and the “Comfort” option to friend-zone Judy then and there.
If you do spend the night with her, Judy will be out on the dock smoking come morning, and she’ll ask what that night meant to you. If you want to complete Judy’s romance, select “The beginning of something amazing.”
Judy will be happy to hear that from you, give you her biometrics for her apartment should you want to visit later, and you can get up, completing Pyramid Song with your new girlfriend. Choosing the “A pleasant distraction” option is both cold and cruel, and Judy simply disappears from your life afterward.
And that’s how you complete the Pyramid Song quest with Judy Alvarez in Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a touching, possibly happy and surprisingly non-violent bit of storytelling in a game where bad endings and bloodshed are the norm.
