Cyberpunk 2077: How to Get Thermal Katana

Katanas have always been incredibly effective weapons in Cyberpunk 2077. Errata, the Iconic thermal damage katana, is one of the best. Not only does it have great stats, but it also applies the Burning DoT effect thanks to its superheated blade. It’s not hard to get either, and you can find it very early on in any playthrough. Better still, after the 2.0 update, blades have become even stronger, and stacking debuffs makes for a powerful combination with a sword and a Sandevistan. Here’s where you can find the Errata thermal katana in Cyberpunk 2077.

Where to Find the Thermal Katana in Cyberpunk 2077

The Errata thermal katana is in a scav hideout in the Arroyo portion of the Santo Domingo district, the district in east-central Night City. Your nearest landmark is the Republic East fast travel point underneath the huge interchange in northern Santo Domingo. You’ll find the hideout in an abandoned Electric Corporation building.

You can enter the EC building at any time, but the easiest way is during the Disasterpiece main story mission. This is where you help Judy rescue Evelyn Parker. The mission takes place in the EC building, and while you’ll need to deal with enemies, you’ll have a complete run of the place — important for getting the Errata thermal katana quickly.

Proceed through the building until you reach Sector -2 and enter a room with a massive furnace in the middle. If you plan to get Errata during Disasterpiece, you can go through the door leading directly into the furnace room. To get your hands on the sword, simply walk up to the furnace and take it from the flames. You’ll have to defeat everything in the room. But if you’re using a blades build, that was probably your plan anyway.

If you’re in the EC building at any other point in the game, it will be free of enemies to kill. However, the door leading to the furnace, and therefore the Errata, will be sealed with no way of opening it. To get to it, you need to be level 12 in the Technical Ability Attribute and operate the door to the left of the one leading to the furnace. There is no other way to get the thermal katana if you didn’t get it during the mission. If you’re out of Attribute points and have spent your one respec, I hate to say you’re out of luck.

No matter how you get Errata thermal katana in Cyberpunk 2077, as an Iconic, you’ll want to keep it as an option should you come across other weapons or abilities that stack with Burn damage. You can also make the thermal katana your main weapon of choice just because it looks cool. Honestly, I don’t think anyone would fault you.
